Rich Poston, M.B.A.
Richard Poston was appointed in 2012 by the Mayor of Palmdale and confirmed by City Council, representing the City of Palmdale in the capacity of commissioner for the Northern County Transportation Commission (NCTC). Poston is one of nine voting members related to transportation project in the northern County of Los Angeles. He convinced Palmdale’s City Council in 2009 to adopt a city-wide ordinance giving local businesses first preference on all city Request for Proposals / Request for Qualifications (RFP & RFQ).
In March 2015, Poston was elected President to the Council of Chambers Board representing the California Black Chamber consisting of 24 statewide Chambers, serving over 6,500 members. He is the immediate Past Chairman of the Board for the Antelope Valley African American Chamber of Commerce and past Vice-Chairman for the Palmdale Chamber of Commerce heading Governmental Affairs and Economic Development in 2010 and Membership Chairman in 2009. He also served as a Board member for the Monrovia Chamber of Commerce in 2000-2003, where he was recognized as ‘Business of the Year’ by local and State governmental agencies.
Mr. Poston is currently the owner of Modern Design Plus specializing in residential and commercial design. He has been a designer and project manager in the architectural industry for over 30 years with projects valued in the millions serving clients such as; IKEA, Vons, GTE, the City of Los Angeles, L.A. Unified School District, County of Los Angeles, Kaiser Permanente, just to name a few. He serves on the Business Advisory Board for San Joaquin Valley Jr. College and Antelope Valley City College in Lancaster California.
Raised in Los Angeles, California now lives with his wife and two sons in Palmdale California. Mr. Poston earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration/Business Management in 1997 and followed with a Master’s degree in Organizational Management in 1999.
